Life is beautiful...

Once a young man was about to be graduated. He had been longing to buy a sports car. As his father could afford it, he told him to get one for him on his graduation day.

The graduation day came. The boy’s father called him and said, “I am very proud of you, my boy…” and gave him a gift wrapped beautifully. The boy opened the gift and found a lovely, leather bound religious Book, the Bhagavad Gita.

The son was disappointed and became furious too. He shouted at his father, “Is this all you can get me with all the money you have?” He threw the book away and left the house never to return.

Many years passed and the boy grew up to become a successful businessman. He built a beautiful house and had a loving family. One day he remembered his father and realized that he would have grown very old (as he had not seen him since the day he left). He thought that he would visit his father. Just then he received a message that his father had passed away leaving all his possessions to him.

When he rushed to his father’s house, he was feeling very sad. He began to look at his father’s belongings with tears in his eyes. He was filled with grief when he found the Bhagavad Gita, still new, just as he had left it years ago. He turned the pages with tears and suddenly an envelope taped to the last page fell down. He opened it to find a car key in it. It had the dealer’s name, the date of his graduation day and the words PAID IN FULL.

Many a time we do miss such Blessings and opportunities just because they are not “wrapped” in the way we expect….A little more patience, perseverance and appreciation, respect and regard for our loved ones would help us always to attain happiness in life...

Thank you sfauthor for your comments. No, I do not know. I am interested in knowing about yoga and also about simple philosophical thoughts and stories.
